There are, mainly because they feel limited by their powers. When the powers first manifest themselves it can be a very dangerous time for the super and the people around them. One of them described it like a gun permanently attached to their hand. If they’re startled or caught off guard, the gun might go off and someone might be injured or killed. Capes and Masks The comics over thought it, there were no “racial tensions” between us and normal people. We were instantly accepted, instantly popular, instantly idolized, seen as gods walking amongst them. Another thing the comics were wrong on, the source of our powers. There were no bug bites, no radiation, no undiscovered or alien materials and certainly no literal God given gifts...well there might be exceptions, but God certainly didn’t approach me and say “here’s your superpower”.
